These large hoop winders with polyester line are being offered at a discount because they have minor defects, however they are still fully usable. Defects might include:

Mold flashing, where extra bits of plastic may be preset along the molding seams. Sharp edges may need to be gently sanded down.
Variable line strength. Some winders may have stronger line than others, but all will have a minimum strength rating of at least 50#, suitable for small to medium sized single line kites. Not suitable for larger single-line kites like the Zenith 7 or Taz Delta.
