Anywhere, anytime, the 4-D flies when all your other kites are on the ground. It's light. Just 70 grams. Light enough to fly by walking backwards in the barest breeze, or even indoors. The wing is nicely balanced for graceful freestyle flying and remains buoyant in fluky wind. It floats on the breeze with precision and balance, with fingertip control that’s guaranteed to refine your flying style.

Got some wind? No problem. The 4-D is super light, but not super fragile and it's as happy to fly in 10 mph as it is in 0. It has a high-modulus solid carbon frame that you can practically tie in a knot without breaking. The sail is made with ultralight polyester and lightweight Mylar laminate. Limiters on the bridle prevent over- or under- tuning the kite for the wind so you don't miss the sweet spot. The frame breaks down to 23" and comes in a sweet padded case. Comes with a 50# x 50ft Dyneema lineset, the perfect weight and length for optimal response and limited drag. If you like to fly inside, there's room in the case for a second, shorter lineset so you can hone your skills on those dark winter days.

Lower spreader problem

The really love flying this kite except lower spreader separates from the spine fitting while in flight. I haven’t been able fix the problem so I don’t flight the kite as often as I would like.

Amazing little kite

The 4D is an amazing kite, quality of stitching and fabric layup is impressive. It’s crazy light and flies surprisingly well in very very light winds. My only reasoning for the 4/5 stars is the line set it comes with could be a tad higher quality, mine came ≈7 inches uneven and slightly frayed where it was stuck to the Velcro holder in the bag. Not a big deal and easy enough to adjust the length but still something I had to mess with. The other issue I had was the spreaders kept coming undone inflight from small gusts, quick movements or turbulence. The rubber softens in the Arizona summer sun and makes the spreaders easy to pull out. A Quick fix was a dab of CA glue on the tips of the carbon rods to increase the diameter so it’ll tightly hold to the rubber fittings. (DO NOT GLUE THE SPREADERS TO THE RUBBER) after these minor tweaks the kite has become everything I hoped it was. It’ll pivot on a dime and even does some nice slow axials in the lighter wind, it makes my quantum 2.0 feel like a 18 wheeler in the sky. The carry case is also fantastic quality and perfect for tossing in my backpack.

Absolute 4-D Joy to Fly

This kite is a complete joy to fly. I often tell people that the most used kites in my bag are little to no wind kites. The 4-D is a perfect solution for those little to no wind days. Control is responsive and exact. You will not be disappointed with this kite!

Favorite Prism kite!

A must have kite in your collection! Flys when nothing else will and is quite durable. Breaks down and neatly stores in a very compact and protective case for travel. Had to buy a second one for my Son as he immediately became attached to my original 4D!

Love the 4-D in the right wind

I added the first Prism 4-D Graphite to my ever growing kite arsenal about 3 years ago. I’m at the beach year round the the 4-D gets lots of action in 1-6 mph range. Less wind and it too much work, more wind and it’s too twitchy to enjoy. But in that 3-5 range on 35’ 50 lb line it’s a joy. I have another low wind contender but the 4-D is usually what I grab. I’m on my second 4-D now. I guess with the extreme light weight comes a greater degree of fragility. I broke a few parts and wore through the nose. With a better appreciation for the kite, I’m sure my new one will last much longer. I also enjoy flying a Prism Nexus with a 25’ tube tail in 8-15mph) and a Prism Sunapse 140 or 180 in 15-30 mph winds. If you are looking to fly when the winds are light the 4-D is the kite to buy
